How to Make a Good Bass on the Arturia PolyBrute12

in this video, I show you how I build a deep, expressive bass sound on the Arturia PolyBrute 12 from scratch.
Instead of simply creating a basic bass patch, I explore some of the PolyBrute 12’s expressive features to give the sound more movement, character, and playability.
For this bass sound, I work with VCO 1, shape the amplitude with the VCA, and use Glide to create smooth movement between notes. I also bring in the Ribbon Controller for hands-on expression and use the PolyBrute’s Morph function to transform the sound and add another dimension to the patch.
The goal is to show how a few carefully chosen controls can turn a simple starting point into a bass sound that feels musical and expressive.
🎛️ Some of the features covered:
• VCO 1
• VCA
• Glide
• Morph
• Ribbon Controller
• Filtering & sound shaping
• Modulation
• Expressive performance techniques
If you own a PolyBrute 12, try these techniques and experiment with how far you can push the Morph and performance controls.
